Morrie with PlayHQ and play.cricket: how they fit together
Updated
The short answer
PlayHQ and play.cricket.com.au are where your competition's fixtures, results, ladders and scorecards live, and Morrie reads that data to make the club's social media cards, reports and season admin. Morrie doesn't replace them: registrations and the competition itself stay where they are, and Morrie turns their data into what they don't do, such as match-day posts, sponsor reports and committee admin.
What each one is for
- PlayHQ runs the competition: registrations, fixtures, team lists, results and ladders.
- play.cricket.com.au is where PlayHQ competitions are published for the public, including live scores, ball-by-ball and scorecards.
- Morrie reads both, and turns that data into match-day cards, posting, sponsor exposure reports, memberships, volunteers and committee admin.
What Morrie reads, and from where
Your grades, fixtures, live scores, ball-by-ball and scorecards all come from play.cricket.com.au with no key: find your club by suburb or postcode in Get started, or paste a grade's play.cricket.com.au address. From then on Morrie keeps the fixtures up to date, reads live scores, marks each game finished on its last day and imports the scorecards.
PlayHQ's own API is optional, a backup for results and ladders. A club asks PlayHQ support for a key and organisation ID, which can take a few days to arrive. Connecting it later matches the games you already have rather than doubling them, and Morrie can fill every grade's team sheet from the XI PlayHQ lists.
Morrie can also compare what it holds from PlayHQ against play.cricket.com.au, game by game, and list any differences in results, scorecards and ladders.
What stays in PlayHQ
Player registrations and the competition's own records stay in PlayHQ. Player registration and contact details aren't available through PlayHQ's public API, so a club brings its contacts into Morrie from a spreadsheet or TeamApp export, or from Mailchimp. Each player's squad entry can link straight to their PlayHQ stats page.
Where Morrie fits
Think of PlayHQ and play.cricket.com.au as the source of truth for the cricket, and Morrie as what the committee does with it: the posts, the sponsors, the members and the season's admin.
Starter ($399/season) is the cards product: every card kind, posting to Facebook and Instagram, Mailchimp drafts, fixtures and scorecards, squad, sponsors on every card and the photo drop. Growth ($798/season) is everything in Starter plus running the club (people, volunteers, renewals, season awards and player votes, committee and documents) and AI Copilot. All-Rounder ($2,433/season) is Growth with every add-on included, the club website and Website Pro among them. On monthly billing the Starter base is charged every month, 12 charges a season (the off-season too, unless the club pauses for it), and the rest of the plan and any add-ons are charged once a season, as on season billing. Starter is $69/month, $828 over a season ($399 paid per season); Growth is $69/month + $399/season, $1,227 over a season ($798 paid per season); All-Rounder is $69/month + $2,034/season, $2,862 over a season ($2,433 paid per season). Paying per season is always cheaper: even 6 months of monthly costs more than the season price, so stopping for the off-season doesn't save anything. AI Copilot is $199/season on top of Starter. Sponsor Prospecting, Video, Coach & Scouting and Club website can go on any plan; Membership + Player Sponsorship and Governance & Compliance Pack need Growth or above. Club website Pro ($299/season) goes on top of the Club website add-on and comes with All-Rounder at no extra cost: your own style on top of your colours: heading and button styles, card corners and shadows, spacing, the header and links; campaign pages for a registration drive, a sponsorship prospectus, finals and presentation night; pages and news only your members can see; sponsor premium: a page for each sponsor, sponsor of the match on the site, and a report of clicks and views for each sponsor; sponsor offers for members: a members-only offers page, with how many members used each offer reported to the sponsor; members can install the site as an app on their phone and get notifications; paid tickets and RSVPs for your events; a past players register: past players sign up on your site, see where their old teammates are now by decade, and get your reunion invitations; no "Website by Morrie" in your site's footer; website visitors, pages and sponsor clicks reported in the club app; a My season page for every player at season's end, with their stats, best moments and a picture for Instagram, and an email with their link. Using Morrie from an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT comes with every plan (Starter, Growth and All-Rounder), with no add-on.

- Use the score feed check on Match day to see that each game's result and scorecard came through.
